Drivers on PC won’t work?
I’ve tried everything it seems, but I can’t get my memory stick OR my cd drives to work. The most recent thing I’ve tried was the computer management thing, but no other drives were recognized there, just my C: drive. Any ideas on how to fix this? It’s really frustrating because I can’t use any of the software I need for work (Greetings Workshop being one of them) because it won’t “read” the disk. I’ve never found anyone else with this issue, so if you know how to fix it, PLEASE HELP!! 
Did the CD drives ever work? If so then it is possible that they burned out (they use an optical laser and can burn out). If they never worked are they connected? There should be at least 2 connections – a 4 wire power cable and a flat IDE cable (there can also be a sound connection). The red stripe on the IDE cable should be on the same side as the red wire on the power cord. The CD-rom can be set to master if it is the only thing on that IDE cable, if not then you have to check your master/slave settings unless the CD-rom supports cable select. Do you feel a bit overwhelmed? That is because trouble-shooting without seeing the computer, knowing what kind it is, knowing the history, and/or being able to test it does not let me zero in on the problem.
